Finely Tuned
Thriving as a highly sensitive person with DBT
Your system runs at higher resolution — more comes in, and it takes more to process it. That's not a flaw to fix. Finely Tuned retires the phrase "too sensitive" for good, and teaches the DBT skills that fit high sensitivity unusually well: reading your own overstimulation and recovery, the body-care basics, mindfulness you may half-already have, and self-validation for the trait you were told was too much.
This is you if
- More comes in than the people around you seem to notice.
- Busy places, bright rooms and long days cost you more to process.
- Recovery takes longer than anyone expects it to.
- You've been told you're too sensitive, often enough to believe it.
- You feel things richer too — and would not trade that away.
Which recovery actually works, for you
Not a course you watch — a personal discovery chart. Finely Tuned reads which recovery practices actually shorten your recovery time, and rewrites your menu from that reading alone.
Measure
An overstimulation diary, triggered by the event rather than the clock — what tipped it, and what brought you back.
as it happensLearn
Short sessions with Iris teach the method — what the trait actually is, why recovery costs what it does, and the skills that fit it.
10–15 min · most daysAdjust
The weekly review correlates your recovery practices against your recovery time and updates the menu.
weekly review↻ the loop runs weekly — six times
There's no dose to raise or lower here — this is a discovery chart, not a clinical instrument. The review looks at which practices were followed by shorter recovery for you specifically, and your menu updates from that reading alone. What works for a finely tuned system is genuinely individual, so the program finds yours rather than prescribing anyone else's.

Iris
DBT: the sensitive self · 4 programot vezet
The coach for the sensitive self — gentle, validating, alert to shame before it takes over the room. Iris's throughline is taking your own feelings seriously enough to actually use them.
“Hi, I'm Iris. Over the next six weeks we're not going to make you less sensitive — we're going to find the recovery that actually works for your system, and build a life that fits it.”
Sensory processing sensitivity, read through DBT
Finely Tuned is built on Elaine Aron's sensory processing sensitivity framework, read through DBT's biosocial model without requiring an invalidating environment — because high sensitivity is a trait in its own right, not evidence that something went wrong. The skills are PLEASE, mindfulness and self-validation, applied to trait-level sensitivity, with a correlation engine aimed at recovery.
- Sensory processing sensitivityAron
- The biosocial model, without requiring invalidation
- PLEASE and mindfulness for a finely tuned system
- Self-validation for the trait
A trait program, with no hard gates
There is no diagnostic language here and no clinical instrument by default, because high sensitivity is a trait rather than a disorder. The onboarding screen is a single non-gating question: if the overwhelm looks more like an anxiety or depressive disorder than trait-level sensitivity, you get a routing note naming Ride the Wave, Groundwork or Lift as additions — never a redirect away from this program.
Crisis resources are reachable throughout, presented lightly to match the register. This is not medical advice.

Miért építettük másképp
- Your recovery menu is derived, not declared The diary is triggered by the event rather than the clock, and the weekly review correlates which practices were actually followed by shorter recovery for you — then rewrites the menu from that reading alone. What exists elsewhere is a user hand-tagging "works well for me", or a generic tracker correlating anything against anything with no defined recovery outcome.
- A trait program that stays a trait program No diagnostic language, no clinical instrument by default, and a single non-gating onboarding question that only ever adds a routing note — never a redirect. The phrase "too sensitive" is retired in week one and never returns.
- The HSP-through-DBT thesis, instrumented An LCSW published this idea as a $19 paperback in 2023 and it stopped there — no diary, no tracking, no personalization. Twelve sessions, five weekly reviews and a correlation engine are what turn the thesis into a program you can run.
- Two weeks free, including the menu The free tier runs to seven items — onboarding, four sessions and two reviews — and it ends with your recovery menu in hand. The nearest comparable course asks $497 up front with a 7-day refund window.

Mielőtt elkezded
Is high sensitivity a disorder?
No, and this program treats it as a trait throughout — no diagnostic language, no clinical instrument by default, and no gates. Roughly a fifth of people run this way, and it comes with real advantages as well as a real processing cost.
What if my overwhelm is actually anxiety or depression?
The single onboarding question checks for that, and if it looks that way you get a note naming Ride the Wave, Groundwork or Lift as additions — alongside this program, never instead of it.
Will this teach me to be less sensitive?
No. It retires the phrase "too sensitive" in week one and doesn't come back to it. The work is recovery that fits your system and a life designed around it — not turning the volume down.
How much time does it take?
The diary is triggered by an event rather than a schedule, so quiet weeks ask nothing of you, plus ten to fifteen minutes most days for the session. The first two weeks are free.
