Clinically Validated Approach
Originally developed by Drs. Anthony Bateman and Peter Fonagy, mentalization-based treatment (MBT) is a first-line, evidence-based psychotherapy for people with borderline personality disorder. Mentalization Coach is the first app dedicated to mentalization and MBT. It is based on the book Mentalization: Utilizing Reflection to Heal from Borderline Personality Disorder by Robert P. Drozek (Oxford University Press, 2025). Robert P. Drozek, LICSW, is Clinical Director of the MBT Clinic at McLean Hospital. He is an MBT trainer through the Anna Freud Centre in London and a Teaching Associate in the Department of Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School. He specializes in the treatment of borderline personality disorder, narcissistic personality disorder, and posttraumatic stress disorder.
