Gut Sense

Calming IBS with gut-directed CBT

IBS isn't in your head — it's in the conversation between your head and your gut, and that line has real volume settings we can reach. Gut-directed CBT has some of the best trial results in digestive medicine. Calm the line directly, take apart the fear that keeps it loud, and take back the places you've been avoiding.

Is this you?

The loop has a shape, too

  • A gut that reacts strongly to stress, and a life that's organized around bathrooms and urgency.
  • The fear of an accident that shapes where you'll go and what you'll eat.
  • Symptoms a doctor has already diagnosed as IBS — not still a mystery.
  • Vigilance that amplifies every gut sensation into a crisis.
  • Places and situations you've quietly started avoiding.
How it works

Your gut diary drives the program

Not a course you watch — a loop you run. Gut Sense reads your gut-stress correlation and your practice rate, and adjusts your dose and your exposure ladder weekly, the same way gut-directed CBT works in a clinic.

1

Measure

A sixty-second daily diary — your gut, your stress, your day. This is the engine of the whole program.

daily · 60 sec
2

Learn

Short sessions with Priya teach the method — your second brain, the loop, the parasympathetic lever.

10–15 min · most days
3

Adjust

The weekly review reads your practice rate and symptom trend, and consolidates, holds, or reinforces your practice.

weekly review

the loop runs weekly — six times

70%practice rate, to consolidate

Practice seventy percent of days with symptoms trending down and the program consolidates what's working. Below fifty percent, it reinforces the baseline practice before adding anything new. The re-entry ladder moves the same way — a rung advances once dread drops to 2 or lower across two attempts.

Hi, I'm Priya. Over the next six weeks we're not going to fix your gut — we're going to turn down the line between your gut and your head, so the fear stops running the show.
The evidence

Gut-directed CBT, faithfully built

Gut Sense implements gut-directed CBT for IBS — one of digestive medicine's best-evidenced psychological treatments — with gut-brain axis psychoeducation, parasympathetic and relaxation training, meal and sleep regularity, catastrophic-thought work, attention de-amplification, and graded exposure back into avoided situations.

  • Gut-directed CBT for IBS
  • Parasympathetic and relaxation training
  • Catastrophic-thought work
  • Graded exposure to avoided situations
Measured like a clinic: your Gut Sense check-in at baseline, midpoint, and finish — so your progress is a number you can see, not a feeling you have to argue yourself into.
Honest about safety

Diagnosis first — always

Gut Sense is for IBS a clinician has already diagnosed. Undiagnosed GI symptoms, or any red flag — bleeding, unexplained weight loss, fever, symptoms that wake you at night, onset after age 50, or a clear change in your normal pattern — route to an education-only track and a see-a-doctor-first referral at onboarding.

This program never prescribes a diet — regularity guidance only; real diet work belongs with a registered dietitian. If your relationship with food has tightened past IBS logic — eating very little, dropping weight, rules taking over — that's flagged gently and pointed toward Nourish or a clinician, without shame.

Why we built it differently

  • No prescription, no waiting room. Gut Sense is CBT-based like Mahana IBS but doesn't require a doctor's visit or insurance processing to start — self-serve from day one, the same access model as Nerva but without hypnotherapy's less-established evidence base for this specific application.
  • One price, published plainly. $149 once, stated upfront — unlike Nerva's assessment-gated pricing or the prescription products' insurance-dependent out-of-pocket costs.
  • It screens for diagnosis, not for insurance. The same clinical caution — diagnosis required before the behavioral program opens — without requiring a prescription or a specific health plan to access it.

Questions

Before you start

Do I need a diagnosis first?

Yes — the onboarding screen checks for it directly. Undiagnosed symptoms or any red-flag sign route to an education-only track and a see-a-doctor-first referral. That's the safe order, and the full program is right here once you're diagnosed and cleared.

Will this tell me what to eat?

No — never a diet prescription. Gut Sense covers meal and sleep regularity only; real diet work is referred to a registered dietitian, since that's not what gut-directed CBT treats.

Will my gut symptoms go away completely?

Maybe not entirely, and this program says so honestly. What usually leaves is the loop's surcharge — the anxiety, the vigilance, the avoidance — even if some gut sensitivity remains.

How much time does it take?

Sixty seconds a day for the gut diary, and ten to fifteen minutes most days for the session. The real work happens in the practice itself — a few minutes of turning the volume down.
