Clear Path

Changing drinking and substance habits with CBT

This isn't about weakness, and it isn't about rock bottom. It's a loop with a job — something sets it off, a craving builds, you use, you get relief — and jobs can be reassigned. We map the loop, learn to ride cravings instead of obeying them, and rebuild what the substance was quietly doing for you. Ten to fifteen minutes a day, guided by your own log. No lectures live here.

Is this you?

The loop has a shape, too

  • Something sets it off, a craving builds, you use, you get relief — and the loop resets.
  • Telling yourself this time will be different, and it mostly isn't.
  • Drinking or using more than you plan to, more often than you'd like.
  • The people or places you now avoid, or the ones you can't avoid without it.
  • You want it to change — moderation or stopping, your call — and you're ready to look at it honestly.
How it works

Your urge log drives the program

Not a course you watch — a loop you run. Clear Path reads your cravings and your goal, and adjusts your plan weekly — the same way relapse-prevention therapy works in a therapist's office.

1

Measure

A short evening check-in, plus a forty-five-second log whenever an urge or use happens.

Learn

Short sessions with Sofia teach the method — the loop with a job, the honest ledger, urge surfing, refusal skills.

Adjust

The weekly review reads your surf rate against your own goal and adjusts the plan.

weekly review

the loop runs weekly — six times

70%surf rate

Surf rate is the number the program tunes against — the share of cravings you ride out instead of obeying. Clear 70% while holding your goal and the plan can widen; below 40%, the plan adjusts — tighten a lever, add a replacement, or resize the goal. A hard week adjusts the plan, never the person.

Hi, I'm Sofia. Over the next six weeks we're not going to lecture you about willpower — we're going to map the loop, ride the cravings instead of obeying them, and rebuild what the habit was quietly doing for you.
The evidence

The relapse-prevention model, faithfully built

Clear Path implements the relapse-prevention model — functional analysis, decisional balance, trigger identification, urge surfing, refusal skills, and permission-thought restructuring — the same protocol substance-use treatment uses, built around a goal you choose: moderation or abstinence.

  • Relapse-prevention modelMarlatt & Gordon
  • Urge surfingBowen, mindfulness-based relapse prevention
  • Trigger mapping and stimulus control
  • Refusal and social-pressure skills
Measured like a clinic: your Clear Path check-in at baseline, midpoint, and finish — so your progress is a number you can see, not a feeling you have to argue yourself into.
Honest about safety

We screen before we start

Clear Path is not medical detox, and a withdrawal-risk screen at onboarding is non-negotiable. Daily heavy alcohol use, benzodiazepine dependence, or opioid dependence route to an education-only track — stopping alcohol or benzodiazepines abruptly can cause seizures and can be fatal, and that belongs under medical supervision, not an app. Dependence-pattern answers get a warm, strong referral to treatment services.

This program is for adults, and it's not a substitute for medical care. We'd rather point you to the right door than let you push through withdrawal alone.

Why we built it differently

  • A curriculum, not a tracker. Reframe and Sunnyside are both ongoing logging loops with no finish line; Clear Path is a six-week relapse-prevention protocol — urge surfing, refusal skills, the replacement portfolio — that ends in a graduation and a plan you keep.
  • Your goal, built into the plan. Moderation or abstinence, your choice — the plan is built around it from week one, not bolted on as an afterthought or restricted to one positioning like Sunnyside's moderation-only stance.
  • One price, no clinical gate. $149 once, self-serve from day one — no telehealth intake, no prescriber, no insurance dependency, unlike Ria Health's medically-managed, months-long track.

Questions

Before you start

Do I have to choose to quit completely?

No — you choose the goal. Clear Path is built around moderation or abstinence, whichever you're working toward, and the plan adjusts to fit it rather than assuming one answer for everyone.

What if I'm physically dependent on alcohol or a drug?

The onboarding screen checks for that directly. Daily heavy drinking, benzodiazepine dependence, or opioid dependence route to an education-only track and a strong referral to treatment — stopping some substances abruptly can be medically dangerous, and that needs a clinician, not an app.

Is this a 12-step program?

No. Clear Path is a CBT relapse-prevention program — functional analysis, urge surfing, refusal skills — not a 12-step model. It doesn't require a particular framework or belief system to work.

How much time does it take?

A short evening check-in daily, a forty-five-second log whenever an urge or use happens, and ten to fifteen minutes most days for the session. The real work happens in the ride — a few minutes of surfing the urge instead of obeying it.
